There have been times an afk of disconnected tank inspired that very act in me. I have managed 6 bosses (heroic/expert/whatever you want to call the uptuned max level version) so far in cloth. Sometimes it works… usually I don’t even try!
It became far less of a problem with Rift though, as most people have a tank spec (and most mages probably will after 3.0.)
Having run an actual tank, however, I completely agree. Sometimes people just need to slow down a little. If there is something else that important waiting… go do it. I doubt that is very often the case…
I’ve been known to tank things on my rouge, my priest, my mage, and my holy paladin in WoW because the tank doesn’t want to pull. The only reason I can actually pull it off is because I tanked on a Warrior for so long in hard core progression.
i completly agree with that statement. any impatient DPS that pulls while i’m tanking gets to be the lucky guy taking shots to the face
You spank it, you tank it.
Giggity

Oh yes, they pull, they die, and I will watch while munching popcorn
can i have some?
Keran the Tank has learned patience.
Even better, she’s learned how to handle impatient DPS.
