So what this dude is saying is that he did not enjoy city raids and/or Tarren Mill. Who elected this guy again? Because no one i’ve ever met would have voted him in if these are his views.
Calling it now, this is all a ploy to get Vedrana more involved in the server community and this council by making her the main voice of the World PvP crowd, thus giving her a reason to be active and always at meetings.
Wpvp generally is considered of little importance by non-practitioners of this aspect, because there are no values that encourage thinking in this activity as something good, when this stops continuously and without merit for one of the groups, their activities.
And often, even if a server is PVP, your population can not be! I play on the server nemesis, (and I’m on it, good both in the economy as for pve) which is a PVP server, but it has more wpvp activity practiced mostly by the Horde, which is something like 40%, while 60% Alliance , just give short shrift to the WPVP, often. Still exists but the wpvp practitioners complain of empty maps and that people don’t participate in this activity.
And on the other side we have the Azralon that being a PVP server, with 90% population horde, has the best PVE progression of realms Br! There’s almost no pvp, saved by connection with other kingdoms. And the Azralon is this way because your public chose to devote himself more to the PVE than the WPVP. It’s not a Kingdom was listed as PVP, which makes full of struggles, and yes the people who populate.
And really, wpvp causes a lag often huge and may even crash the server. ^^
I think the idea that people signed up to be circle-jerked into 120+ man raids on each side every day because they elected to join a certain guild on PVP server is laughable. Sure that’s nominally what you “agree” to, but there are people that join PVP servers and guilds because all their friends are there or whatever.
Time for 3 man arenas? Oops, gotta stop, your multi-guild federation is making a call out.
RBG time? NOPE gotta respond to another call out.
Raiding? Guess again! Time to respond!
The enemy faction isn’t dumb, they know what time you do these things and choose those times to respond. Why respond at all? Ever had new members of your guild camped so hard they left the guild so they could quest in peace? Well that was a real problem a guild I was the PVP officer in had. Could it be report? NOPE because there was a “pvp solution to the problem.” Do it back to them? We certainly did, but then you’re having to take your time and conform to their schedule while also conforming to your own.
It’s not Tarren Mill vs Hillsbrad or some other rose-tinted shit people like to jack off to anymore. It’s not about having an “glorious” battle that is “always” enjoyable at this point. It is about making the game so terrible for the enemy faction (specific guilds in particular) that they /fucking disband/. It’s a hateful, dirty fucking business.
Ummm, Yeah, I think I’ll just quit reading posts concerning a comic arch as its no longer fun to ‘read’ the heavy handed crap over someones inkling of a game that they are drawing. Think I’ll read a book instead.
There’s some fun to be had with world PvP, but there is a point there on the other side as well. Given that MMO world PvP only has win/loss conditions if both sides agree on them in general (as respawns just keep an infinite supply of bodies incoming)… there’s either got to be some such agreement, or people get frustrated. If enough people get frustrated, your PvP server gets empty, and then you have no world PvP.
There’s also a reason why so many PvP MMO or multiplayer games coming out have some rules attached. Because, let’s face it, games die when gank attacks are the norm. Very few are the people who would rather police such things, and even fewer those who want to just keep being victims in a situation where they cannot progress to fight back.
Given that this is high level world PvP stuff, it’s not so bad on the second part… but that first part is a problem. Enough of a problem that, most likely, Vedrana is going to find out that a bunch of people in her guild support the idea of less of it *My guess as to upcoming comics!*
I’m pretty sure that the sheer ammount of RP focus in this server means it is actually an RP-PVP server.
Which really confuses me? How in all of hell’s name did Verdrana end up joining an RP-PVP server in the first place? It’s not like we can use the “Friends played here first” excuse, we haven’t seen any friend that she didn’t make in this server.
Or, there are no RP servers – just PVP and PVE. This particular PVP server just happens to have a large RP community; unknownst to Vedrana when she started playing.
Though I find myself wondering why the Hell she would choose to play with Keran on the same server as all of her prior issues. Why not a different server and leave it all behind. We saw her hesitant to log into her old main to prove her identity to the guys, after all.
Never ending murder and death is great fun, in so many different games, too. Like the thirty strong boarding house CoD 2 swacks

Certainly not on a PVP server, you roll your character, you take your chances.
(Though I always liked it more in games where it was the full focus like Planetside. Dying on that hill, over and over)

“Ugh, I do NOT want to have to deal with this anymore. Can’t we get someone else who actually still enjoys this mess?”
“…I think I have an idea.”
Won’t somebody please think of the lowbies?
They clicked PvP. They know what they signed up for.

It be worse. Much worse. We could be playing Vanilla Ultima Online.

Honestly, it sounds more like the guy running this meeting is a hardcore roleplayer who had too many sessions interrupted by random ganks.
