And ok honestly the quest where you end up talking to the emperor on the mountain top is PERHAPS one of the most epic non-fighting moments I remember in game with some of the best writing I can remember in terms of dialogue.
Yeah whenever die hard lore nerds say this I kinda want to go (as a die hard lore and history nerd)
The Silk Road. And… china was a thing. They did exist at the time of medieval European styling and there WAS trade???
And like with the amount of tech and stuff in game of course travel is easier than in medieval Europe.
It reminds me of a discussion that happened that it is actually historically plausible to have a story with a adventuring party of a old west gun slinger, a gentleman Victorian thief, a disgraced samurai, and a elderly French pirate.
History kinda always happened all at once, kinda together like.
The Silk Road and the trade it represents also existed way before Medieval. I believe Ancient Rome exported silk, though they probably didn’t know it came from China, just that it came from the Middle East.
In my Pathfinder world, the current focus area is a continent comprised of two nations. One is pseudo-European and the other is pseudo-Roman with a bit of Scandinavia at the north end for VIKINGS. I have also talked about two other known continents in the east, one being Asian inspired and the other African. I currently have very little in the way written for them, but I felt that mentioning them early allowed for more variety in character background options and saved me the hassle of “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE ARE TWO WHOLE CONTINENTS WE’VE NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE???”
I understand it for an area or something, as a gimmick, but a whole expansion? Surely we could just watch kung fu panda on repeat until the next expansion.
Starchild Illidan-kun descended from heaven. “Spray forth from my loins, the stupidest fucking shit you’ve ever seen.” It was said that Warcraft Sues grew ten sizes that day, inflated by 13 year olds who wanted both the edginess of death knights and the weeaboo shittiness of monks with a heaping dose of “LOL WHAT IS A PLAY TEST?” on top.
Asia exists, and its good that they’re basing an expansion on some of the culture. But they did in the most weeby gimmicky way that doesn’t give it the respect it deserves (in my opinion, so you can probs disregard everything I say) Martial art pandas who embody “muh honoru” isn’t the sort of Asian culture representation I want to see. Shit, its like having a discount Spain where almost everyone is a matador, and they’re loud and drunk. (which is the exaggerated silly stereotype)
I remember when I got my Loremaster. Had to redo it because of the Cata expansion, which sucked as I had to start from the beginning. I was only 8 away from achievement but couldn’t find any for the life of me.
Other one that really sucked was the “Well Read” one. Ugh.
I just barely managed Loremaster before the Cata reboot of it…and Well Read was a royal pain(especially the couple that were only located deep inside Alliance villages). I’m currently working on “Insane in the Membrane” recovering my goblin city reps after getting Bloodsail Admiral
“And now the Katanas and paper are no longer anachronistic. EVERYTHING SUCKS!
At least they didn’t mess up the corn, potatoes and tobacco”
I bet she ends up liking it.
The Lorewalker Cho quest line where you meet your ancestors is great. I don’t know why but I just love it and Kieran would definitely love it too.

IT IS THE BEST I LOVE THAT LOREWALKER CHO QUEST
such sass! 😀
YOU clash horribly with the established lore!
Pandas did exist in the original Warcraft games 0.o

Giant majestic owls!
Dang, even the owls got prettier eyes!
You’re right! Had missed it, such majesty!
I agree with Keran, shitty weeaboo anime Pandas and monks can gtfo.

You both have shit opinions.
Sorry we can’t be all desu baka like you mate.
Sorry we can’t all deny that Asia exists like you do friend
Pandas are the worst lore race next to Night Elves and Monks are the most broken shit ever put into WoW from a mechanics stand point.
Who’s… who’s gonna tell them about Demon Hunters?
