Pandaren’s are at least an original race, unlike all the variants we see of Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, etc.
Plus. bears who know martial arts, how can that be anything less than awesome.
Still a better species than something like the Sylvari in terms of a race to pop up in a game sequel. Chen Stormstout also appeared in one of the WC3 campaigns.
Not really. The answers to shitty Panda land and the terrible lore of Pandaria wasn’t to put in time traveling stupidity and alternate universes. Legion though had great lore imo, but terrible gameplay with the artifact weapons thing.
Legion had good lore but absolutely terrible storytelling, which actually was what caused me to quit WoW for maybe-good (unless they somehow rise like a Phoenix and fix stuff for the next expansion)
Pandaria had NEW lore that expanded on several original plots such as old gods and dragons, let it have a impact on the story and potential impact moving forward, and the Pandaren race is honestly a very well conceptualized people by WoW standards.
Like honestly I am a English lit nerd who is a wannabe writer and honest to god I could gush forever about the storytelling elements they got RIGHT in Pandaria. They did actual foreshadowing! Semi-subtly! Had reoccurring thematic elements that were actually decently done and made sense!
I mean that was the last expansion I didn’t quit halfway through, because it actually stayed compelling.
The Sha was the stupidest enemy of all time and completely counter the entire point of Warcraft. “What? Orcs murdered your whole family? You mad about that? *POSSESSED BY SHA CAUSE YOU HAVE BAD FEE FEES*” It was dumb, but not the worst expansion. That honor goes to Warlords of Draenor.
What, she can’t switch back to her tank main when it’s needed?
Since every MMO I’ve played either allows multiple alts, or mutiple specs, or multiple classes, Verdrana’s not only coming across like a huge dick, but this comic makes no sense.
Expansion for WoW means a level bump and new level of stats for gear; if Lys is going to be running an alt, and switching to it, she isn’t going to be spending time gearing up her old char for raid-level in the new expansion.
This is especially as a new expansion is a clean slate with the opportunity to get the ‘firsts’ for all the bosses.
Similar to what tremor said: Its a new expansion. This comic implies she is no longer wanting to tank because she likes the new class so much. This is still the prepatch, so its not a matter of her getting to max level and gearing up to resume her tanking role, as there is tons of time for that before the expansion actually hits, this is her planning on playing DPS. It may change before the prepatch is done, but we don’t know that yet.
People typically don’t change mains and then level their old character to maintain the status quo for their raid. Some of the only people to level and maintain more than 1 character at the highest level they’re capable are Mythic raiders [for WoW, at least], of which most people are not. And even then, we’re not talking about the people who are currently 4/10 Mythic, we’re talking about the people racing for world firsts and high guild rankings worldwide.
I do agree that telling someone they can’t change mains in a new expansion is a bit of a dick move though. Like, its acceptable if the raid already has 2 people 100% maining as tanks for the expansion and a third person is told they can’t because they don’t need any more tanks, but swapping to DPS, especially if the comic applies the flex raiding that WoW has for most of its difficulties, is totally fine. Its a new expansion, recruiting is easy. You find someone who isn’t a jerk, and even if they’re bad, they can be taught, that’s not the hard part.
watch, lys was one of the first people on the server by sheer luck, or skill, and already had those XP pots ready and is already 50 *or w/e the max was for them before this xpac*
Now, will she have a tank spec?
It better involve loads of booze.
Which means now Lys is the off tank while she gears up her monk?
At least she isn’t a shitty panda
You shut your mouth. It’s your kind that brought upon us the horrors of WoD and Legion by saying such things.
Also pandaren are literally awesome.
Pandaren’s are at least an original race, unlike all the variants we see of Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, etc.

Original race? I recall WC1 having Orcs and Humans, that’s it XD
Original as in “not the same ones we see in every fantasy game”, I think.

Every body be kung fu fighting
Those monks were fast as lightning
Even though it was a little bit frightening.
But they fought with expert timing.
So Lys is a lowbie now? WHO WILL STOP THERON FROM MANY SHOTTING WHILE SHE’S LEVELING?!

Pretty sure they are on the expac pre-patch. So, about a month in-game before the expac hits
Wait so if Lys goes dps, will Keran have to do tank-persuasion on her?
Pfft.. everyone knows that Flying Kick Monks are OP
She will now spread inner peace … and punches?
