Because even though it’s a smart thing to do, even though it’s logical, even though it’s just as viable a build, why would you even do that? Only (censored)s put points into dex
Because markers are usually used on a group of enemies to determine kill order. Skull universally means “Kill this first” and X means “Kill this second. That means that it gets generalized to Skull always meaning 1st and X always meaning 2nd, which is why doing skull first is what a wow player would do.
That would be nice. In game, we get Skull, Red X, Orange Shield, Yellow Star, Blue Square, Purple Diamond, Green Triangle, and White Moon. Back when crowd control was more prevalent, we used to use different markers to mark each target that had to be polymorphed, sapped, banished, etc.
I’m sure there was reasoning behind those markers. I’m sure it was logical, well thought out, and generally a good idea. I can’t see it though. If they were worried about immersion, floating skulls and polygons and moons aren’t quite the best idea.
Immersion isn’t really a concern. It’s probably that it’s easier to parse a big skull or a big blue square than a number in the middle of a boss fight.
Yeah okay, that makes sense. I still think that numbers, while a slight inconvenience for everyone, would be better than a huge inconvenience for some. (for example from two alternating schools of thought regarding x or skull for kill, the people not used to the way being used by the party would potentially slip up/have to hesitate)
Robin, I can definitely say that it’s easier to parse skulls and stuff. FFXIV has number-markers and I hate them with “spitting my last breath at thee while I chew floor” passion. It doesn’t help that they’re all the same color, either.
Sacrilege.
As a non-wow player, kill on skull absolutely makes sense
But I’m guessing it’s like Dark Souls, where only (censored)s put points into DEX

What’s “censored”.

Why not have like Number light-symbol-glowy-thingos. So it’s pull on 1, Move to 2, kill on 3 or something

This does at least prove, in any pug, that the symbology be gone over just in case something weird like this happens.
The abs are back! Hooray!
I’m just astounded how ripped both characters I got to influence were
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
This is not just a victory for Abby Of Many Abs and his two friends, but for logic and common sense.
Now they’re going to go to war like in “Go God Go” the South Park Episode over whether skull or X is the appropriate kill target.
oh Verdrana….you forgot the random PUG mantra: “It’s just one dungeon. It’s just one dungeon…”
Along with “ignore chat”, but that’s impossible to do on achieve runs.
