What’s this? Another link to the Experience Boost on Patreon?
That’s so weird that it would be here. But since it is here , it seems like a great time to remind you that you can follow that link to support the comic and get rewarded in the process! We’re over halfway to our first goal!
Careful Lys, his ego is huge, but fragile.
I’m wondering if maybe the two of them previously had a thing going on, as opposed to just shared raiding history… that would explain why she knows all his tricks, and just how to twist the knife?
The day the DPS meter was invented was a dark one. How dark? Well, check the meter instead of moving out of the fire. 😛
One of the reasons I’ve been loving Final Fantasy XXIV: no add-ons. No DPS meters. And MAN, does it make a difference in their LFG and raid experience.
Same with GW2.
I’m conflicted on DPS meters. On one hand, they are legitimately useful tools for judging performance of both yourself and raid members, when used correctly. Even if this means someone is going to be kicked because they aren’t performing, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing; if a group is wiping to an enrage timer of some sort, it is insanely useful to be able to see who the problem players are and replace them [hopefully in a friendly enough manner].
The alternative to that scenario is simply dismissing the entire group or kicking all of the dps and to reform from there. I’d much rather kick a couple problem players than disband an entire group.
On the other hand, dps meters absolutely encourage certain types of players to ignore mechanics, tunnel bosses, and so on. They are also a convenient scapegoat for a group having trouble on a boss, even when dps is not the real issue. Wiping because the 3 hunters stacked when they should have spread and they all died? KICK THE 12K DPS MAGE.
I’ve also found that a lack of meters, like in FFXIV, means I’m more interested in playing my class for fun without much care for where it lands in terms of damage compared to other classes. Whereas in WoW, the amount of fun I have as a dps spec is almost directly tied to how much dps I can pull as that spec. Granted, gear is a big part of that as well.
Anyway, rambling done.
any tool whether its a sword or a pencil, can be used to maim people.
